On April 1, Israel conducted a strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, resulting in the deaths of seven Iranian military advisers, including two high-ranking generals from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Israel asserts that the targeted site was actually a base of the IRGC's Quds Force, which provides support to Hamas. In response, Iran carried out a barrage of over 300 missiles and drones directed at Israeli territory in the early morning hours of Sunday, April 14. This retaliatory operation was dubbed True Promise.
On April 14, 2024, the ZhS Premium Telegram channel outlined the results of Iran’s operation and published a video allegedly showing an attack on Israel.
The video that was posted on the Telegram channel is actually of a Ukrainian strike on Sevastopol, not an Iranian attack on Israel. It was published on March 23, before the True Promise operation.
Ukraine asserted that they had conducted strikes against multiple vessels of the Black Sea Fleet. The Russian side did not provide any official commentary on the attack. However, according to unofficial reports from Russian Telegram channels, the Russian ships had in fact sustained damage in the incident.
