CalmArchive Privacy Policy

CalmArchive is a Chrome extension that helps users save web pages to the Internet Archive and organize links to their Wayback Machine snapshots.

Data CalmArchive Uses

To provide its functionality, CalmArchive may access the URL and title of the web page being archived.

CalmArchive stores extension settings and archive history locally in the user's browser. Archive history may include page URLs, page titles, Wayback Machine links, timestamps, tags, notes, favorites, and archive status.

Internet Archive

When a user archives a page, CalmArchive sends the page URL to the Internet Archive in order to request a Wayback Machine snapshot and retrieve information about the resulting archive.

If the user enables the optional Auto-save feature, eligible page URLs may be submitted to the Internet Archive automatically as pages are visited.

The Internet Archive is a third-party service and processes requests according to its own policies.

Data Sharing

CalmArchive does not sell user data.

User data is not used or transferred for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, or purposes unrelated to the extension's archive functionality.

Page URLs are transmitted to the Internet Archive only as necessary to provide the archiving functionality requested or enabled by the user.

Data Storage

CalmArchive stores its settings and archive records locally using Chrome's extension storage. CalmArchive does not operate its own server for collecting or storing this information.
