What is Belarusian Interactive Catalogue of Fakes

The Belarusian Interactive Catalogue of Fakes is an online tool designed to explore false information and disinformation campaigns targeting Belarus. The Catalogue of Fakes was developed by the Belarusian Investigative Center (BIC) as part of their ongoing AntiFake News project, which has been gathering and examining false information campaigns since 2021.

The platform offers a comprehensive overview of the fake news landscape in Belarus, including visualizations and search functions to help users identify and understand disinformation tactics. It also provides insights into the media and individuals involved in spreading false narratives and allows users to explore specific examples of manipulation and distortion of information. This is a holistic view of how the propaganda machine works.

“Everything is ours.” ONT overstated how much of the Horizont laptop is made in Belarus

Ihar Tur, a host on the ONT TV channel, described the new ultra-thin Horizont H-book laptop as an almost entirely Belarusian design. Allegedly, only the case is imported. However, the technical specifications and breakdown of the device reveal that the laptop contains more foreign-made components.

A pin for the elite? Audonin exaggerated the significance of a gift from North Korea

During his appearance on the program Azaryonok. Napryamuyu, political analyst Aliaksei Audonin revealed that he had received a special pin bearing the images of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il from his “Korean friends” during his trip to North Korea. He claims that only high-ranking officials in North Korea are permitted to wear such pins. However, available data and photographs of North Koreans call this into question.

Did Drapatyi start the war in Donbas? News.by misdated the start of the Donbas conflict by nearly a month

The First News Channel described Mykhailo Drapatyi as the man who allegedly “effectively started the civil war” in Ukraine. As evidence, they cited the events of 2014 as evidence, when his IFV broke through a barricade in Mariupol. However, this incident did not occur at the beginning of the conflict. By that time, armed groups were already operating in Donbas, administrative buildings had been seized, and the Anti-Terrorist Operation had already underway.
