Tariff-free trade in the SCO? Belarusian Radio spotlights a benefit that is not in place
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization marked its 25th anniversary on June 15, 2026. In a broadcast on Belarusian Radio’s First National Channel, it was claimed that Belarus benefits from SCO membership through tariff-free trade. However, the organization has not made any decisions in this regard. For now, the simplification of trade procedures among member states remains at the level of discussions, initiatives, and working groups.

A tax instead of support for drivers? What’s wrong with CTV’s report on fuel prices in Poland
The CTV program Novosti 24 chasa criticized the Polish authorities for introducing a new tax on extraordinary profits instead of taking measures to lower fuel prices. However, this misrepresents the situation. Poland has already introduced price caps on fuel, reduced the VAT on gasoline and diesel, and temporarily lowered fuel excise taxes. This new tax is intended to offset part of the budget shortfall caused by these tax breaks.

News.by cited the guilty verdict against Polish nationals as proof that Belarusians were not involved in the cigarette smuggling scheme
A news report on the First News Channel covered the sentencing of three Polish nationals involved in smuggling cigarettes from Belarus using weather balloons. The host presented this as evidence that Polish citizens themselves are carrying out the criminal schemes. However, the court found that one of the defendants had been working with a Belarusian who had provided him with the shipment’s coordinates.

Swine fever, not bioweapons: What U.S. intelligence documents actually confirm
Ihar Tur, an ONT host, stated that declassified U.S. intelligence documents have confirmed previous claims by Belarusian propaganda about biological laboratories in Ukraine. In 2022, however, ONT and other Belarusian media outlets were reporting not only on the existence of laboratories but also on the development of biological weapons. Documents declassified by Tulsi Gabbard do not support this claim.
